PsychoTherapy and Counseling Services
I believe most struggles a person faces is due to experiences of trauma and the natural way your brain compensates to keep you protected. In my approach, 'trauma' includes any situation that presented a risk and you had to adapt to. This includes small daily or chronic traumas to big single event traumas. We will work on increasing self-awareness to identify, nurture, and heal these parts of ourselves . It is easier to make changes when we know what you are experiencing and why. In addition, we always consider you 'in context'; how do your relationships, work environment, health, and place in life impact your sense of self and ability to function?
I utilize multiple treatment modalities but primarily work within the context of ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), IFS (internal family systems) and Family Systems Therapy. Other common approaches include functional analytic psychotherapy, CBT, motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, as well as more creative interventions such as art and writing therapy. |

I believe everyone should be able to fully address the issues they're coming in for. I offer a sliding scale for those with financial concerns, and will discuss adjusting the fee should you encounter financial hardship during the course of treatment. Because I often treat those with age or disability issues, In-Home Sessions may be available if you qualify. |
